Starting from March 31, 2021, Chengdu Wuhou Shrine Museum will showcase a wide range of relevant cultural relics with fine design and planning, aiming to bring the history of the Three Kingdoms alive.

In Chinese history, there is a short historic period of less than 100 years—the Three Kingdoms during which the political frays and famous figures have left profound influence and global impact. The stories of the time have inspired numerous literary men to create a lot of great works such as drama and novel that have been passed down from generation to generation. The derivative works in modern times have been widely integrated into many fields, including film, television, comics, animation and video games. In 2019, the Exhibition of the Three Kingdoms Legend jointly organized by China and Japan became one of the most popular Chinese cultural relics exhibitions in Japan in recent years.

Under the guidance of the National Cultural Heritage Administration and organized by the Art Exhibitions China, this exhibition will tour all over China. Following Beijing, Shenzhen, Suzhou and etc., Chengdu will become the sixth city in China to welcome the wonderful exhibition.
The Three Kingdoms, a tripartite between the states of Wei, Shu, and Wu, followed the loss of the de facto power of the Han dynasty in China, ushering in the start of the Period of Disunity. Although relatively short, it was the chaotic era in Chinese history. The frequent wars and large-scale population movements had greatly shaken the social and political systems, as well as led to the creative revolutions and the rise of numerous heroic figures during the years.
In 2019, the exhibition was unveiled at Tokyo National Museum in Japan for the first time, sparking "the Three Kingdoms cultural fever" among Japanese people. It's reported that the total number of visitors exceeded 330,000. Then the exhibition toured to Kyushu National Museum and received a considerable number of visitors more than 140,000.
Apart from appreciating the culture of the Three Kingdoms from relics, we can also imagine this historic period beyond time and space by screen or book.
Now it's time for Chengdu audiences to enjoy the visualized Three Kingdoms.
